How eggs work

Every egg hatches into a chicken, and which chickens an egg can produce is only revealed as you unlock them, according to IGN's guide. The Flock menu carries a Fertility Gene stat — hover it to see which egg types your chicken can drop — and fusing with different chickens can add more egg types to that list. Chickens also lay on timers, including while you are offline, which is what turns the egg system from a shop into a supply chain.

Practically, this means three acquisition channels exist: codes (free eggs), layers (chickens that produce eggs on a timer), and events. Two reading notes. IGN's pools list what an egg can hatch, not odds — no hatch percentages are published for any egg, so any site printing them is estimating (TBC). And the Thunder Egg's pool is by far the deepest at 14 documented chickens, which is why the community treats it as the workhorse egg.

How to get eggs, in practice

The free on-ramp is codes: WELCOME (Nest), LETMECOOK (Thunder), SERGIOVERSE (Scratch) and 40KCCU (Blazing), all verified as of August 12–13. After that, eggs come from layers: park a chicken whose Fertility Gene lists the egg you want, and collect on its timer. Fusing is the multiplier — transferring a laying trait onto a chicken you actually want to keep is documented community practice.

Events add bursts of supply. The Hot Egg challenge at the center arena drops Blazing Eggs, random timed events scatter pickup eggs (one video shows two Nest Eggs collected from a single event), and the official August 15 "NEW EVENT + INCUBATOR" banner suggests the incubator system is expanding. What eggs are for

Hatching is the obvious use — every chicken in the game enters through an egg. The second use is banking: rare eggs are fusion fuel, and impulse-hatching a Void Egg before your farm can support the result is the most-cited waste in community guides. The third use is quieter: index completion. Filling the Egg Index with every hatch pool is its own progression track, and layers you keep producing eggs are also completing it.

Selling is the fourth use. Hatched chickens you do not need convert to Cash, and the Gamezebo guide prices one secret hatch at $3.4M at level 112 — evidence that late-game egg farming doubles as a money strategy.

Rare eggs and the secrets

The rare end of the catalog is where the chase lives. The Void Egg's documented pool is tiny — three chickens — and includes Astro Chick, while the Fortune Egg hides one of the game's two Secret-rarity chickens at a reported 1% hatch chance (Gamezebo). Royal Eggs carry a five-name pool including Founder Rooster and Valkyrie Hen.

The Cursed Egg holds the other Secret. Per Gamezebo's documented chain: hatch NPC Chick from a Scratch Egg (12% — corroborated by a second video), let it lay Cursed Eggs (80% every 2 minutes), then look for the Stone Face Chicken inside the Cursed Egg (19%) — once hatched, it lays Cursed Eggs at 100%, with the timer reportedly dropping to one minute at higher levels (all figures single-source Gamezebo except the 12%/80%, TBC).

The Cursed Egg's own secret is the 404 Chick, at a reported under-1% hatch chance. Gamezebo documents its level-112 stats as 7.1M health, 766.7k attack, +15% speed, +15% power and a 6-minute egg timer, selling for $3.4M — single-source figures, so verify in game (TBC). The full Classic Rooster to Stone Face loop reportedly runs about 40 minutes.
